Apple, Banana, Peach Smoothie

If you're living in Alabama, or somewhere else in the southern United States, you may be experiencing some pretty dreary, wet weather. The clouds and the humidity this morning definitely had me feeling like my energy levels were pretty low, and I don't think I'm the only one considering all of the morning yoga classes had low attendance! (Shout out to those who made it out though!) Anyway, I decided to make a fun, bright, flavorful smoothie bowl to brighten the mood.

Apple, Banana, Peach Smoothie Bowl Recipe
Smoothie:
  • 1 whole banana (mine was pretty small though)
  • 1/4 -1/2 of an apple (my favorite are the pink lady variety)
  • A few slivers of avocado (yes, avocado)
  • A handful of peach slices
  • 1 carrot
  • A little bit of Kefir, Honey Strawberry flavor
  • Orange mango juice
  • Ice (only if you don't have enough frozen ingredients)

Toppings:
  • Vanilla, coconut, pumpkin seed granola (Cascadian Farm)
  • Chia seeds
  • Coconut shavings
  • Kiwi (about half)
  • 1 Raspberry

I found a tutorial on YouTube to show me how to make the kiwi flower! Of course, you can just throw all the ingredients in the bowl after you poor in the smoothie. It still tastes amazing even if it doesn't look pretty! I also mentioned on my instagram page that I would give some tips for freezing fruit.

As promised, my fruit freezing tips are as follows:
  • Cut up fruit into manageable, easy to use pieces
  • Dip the fruit into a bowl of water & lemon - this will prevent fruits from browning in the freezer. I use 1 lemon to about a half gallon of water.
  • Place the fruit in resealable freezer bags in one layer (as if they were on a cookie sheet) and lay the bags in the freezer so that the pieces aren't stacked on top of each other

I hope you guys found this helpful! Let me know what you think in the comments below and if you make and of the recipes tag @urdhva_shaynasana and use #rocketcityyogi

Namaste friends!
